The stunning Villa d’Este in Tivoli, with its rooms, fountains and gardens proves to be the perfect backdrop to a ‘for life’ musical project. Notes of amazement and anxiety resound in the silent rooms of Moses and Noah, coloring them with echoes of Bebop and Cool Jazz. Mysterious sounds recalling past glories are immortalised in all their beauty.

Debut trio album for the young bass player Dario Germani, accompanied by excellent musicians, Stefano Preziosi on alto sax and Luigi Del Prete on drums, is enriched by the soloist performance and the overwhelming personality of the prolific tenor saxophonist Max Ionata, as guest. Building a bridge between various eras is the clear need of the trio. This is proven by the choice of Villa D‘ Este (residence of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt) as venue for the recording session. From a specifically musical point of view, a clear interest in the compositions of the Bebop period (Crepuscule with Nellie, Little Willie Leaps; Bud on Bach) is outlined, as well as in Cool Jazz (Late Lament) and in the blues style of Yusef Lateef (For Life). The three original songs have different features, but they share the same melodic-expressive originality, while remaining in a traditional guise. Born in 1984, Dario Germani began to study electric bass at a very young age, trained under the guidance of Maestro Gianluca Renzi, then, he switched to double bass. He has always combined classical music studies (Frosinone Conservatory) with jazz improvisation and arrangement. He attended the following master classes: 2005, Roma Jazz’s Cool (G. Tommaso); 2006, Berklee Summer School at Umbria Jazz (D. Clark; C. Zanghieri); 2007, Tuscia in Jazz (B. Williams; G. Rosciglione); 2008, Nuoro Jazz (A. Zanchi; C. Brown); 2009, Siena Jazz (P. Dalla Porta; S. Colley; B. Allison; D. Gress); 2010, Capbreton (H.V. De Geyn; L. Grenadier); 2011, Orsara di Puglia (J. Webber); 2012, La Spezia (E. Gomez). In 2011, he won the Lucky Award as Best Arranger (Orsara Jazz).
