A shared passion is what brings together these two extraordinary musicians: Daniel John Martin & Romane. A passion for the Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli age. Their aim is to bring out the typical Parisian ´French touch in this acoustic jazz string music, yet without going into any imitation. Ten original songs, one cover by Didier Lockwood and one bonus track with a chamber ensemble.

The name ‘Romane’ pops up immediately whenever a debate on jazz guitar takes place, in line with the style of Django Reinhardt. Romane was one of the first artists to make this style popular again in the early 90ís. Not only is he one of the greatest guitarists in this style, but he is also a brilliant composer who is often being played by younger generations. Son and grandson of guitarists, he was awarded many of the major prizes (Sacem, Prix Django Reinhardt, etc.). He was invited to play around the globe, he recorded countless records and played alongside many of the major guitarists of our time! Daniel John Martin is an Anglo-French jazz violinist born in Congleton, near Manchester, in the UK. After spending most of his childhood in Africa, especially South Africa where he lived for ten years, he moved to France, where he continued to study music at the Conservatory of Paris. He soon bumped into jazz and his encounter with Didier Lockwood, who he recorded and toured with, launched him into a career dedicated to jazz. Today he is a renowned violinist on the Parisian ìgypsy jazzî scene and he tours the world as leader or shares the stage with great manouche guitarists.
