Virgo Supercluster (CD Album)
Martino Vercesi Quartet | Tosky Records®
“Virgo Supercluster” is the fourth record of the guitarist Martino Vercesi. Virgo is the name of the supercluster where our solar system is located, where we live. The peculiar sound of quartet due to several reeds and rhythm section battery / hammond organ give a powerful color and a strong identity to this imaginary journey through time and space.
Martino Vercesi began to study modern guitar when he was ten years old. Later, he studied classical guitar and, in 2002, he graduated with honors at the “G.Verdi Conservatory”, in Milan. He completed his training in classical guitar with Bruno Giuffredi and Andrea Dieci, and with Gigi Cifarelli, Luca Meneghello and Pasquale Grasso, he focused on jazz guitar. He collaborated with several musicians, such as Luigi Bonafede, Tony Arco, Giovanni Falzone, Marco Vaggi, Sandro Cerino, Fabrizio Trullu, Ares Tavolazzi, Luca Dell’Anna, Antonio Fusco and Marcello Testa. He performed in remarkable national and international jazz clubs, such as the Blue Note Milan, the Porgy and Bess Vienna, the Jazz Club Chur, the Jazz Club Torino. Martino played on live radio receiving flattering reviews from specialized magazines (See Jazz Music, Classical Radio, Radio Vertigo 1, Kristall Radio, Anima Jazz). He boasts several publications both as a soloist and as a sideman: 2006, “Beat Out Shrine” by Gerardo Frisina (Schema Records); 2011, “Connected” by The Vibes (Ultrasound Records); 2011, “The Eye” by Hotel 7 (Rnc Music); 2013, “Tension” by Martino Vercesi Quartet (BePlay Music); 2013, “Too Soon For A Gift” by Vercesi Greselin quartet (Videoradio ed.musicali); 2015, “6 Haiku” by Martino Vercesi Trio (Jazzy Records); 2015, “Push and Pull” by Stefano Sernagiotto Quartet (Music Center); 2016, “Kind of Blue revisited” by Sushi Trio (Unpublished); 2017, “Virgo Supercluster” by Martino Vercesi Quartet (Tosky Records®).
