An intense, passionate album with a lyric touch. Three fascinating and melodic musical instruments for an unusual trio, which without any rhythm section, finds its balance in moments of free expression. Gianluca Lusi, saxophonist, clarinetist, composer and arranger born in 1975. He graduates in saxophone and jazz music disciplines with full marks at the Conservatory, attends the advanced course in jazz music, improvisation and ensemble music at the Berklee Summer School. In 2008 he made his first international tour in the United States, which ended at the prestigious “The University of Southern” in Hattiesburg in Mississippi. Currently a Miur teacher, he has been a saxophone teacher in free jazz courses and beyond at the Casa del Jazz in Rome, in collaboration with the Santa Cecilia Conservatory of Rome and a jazz saxophone teacher at the Praeneste Music Academy in Rome. His activity as a concert player was very intense, he had the opportunity to play in the great Italian and foreign circuits (U.S.A., Japan, France, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary) with internationally renowned Italian and foreign artists: Danilo Rea, Maurizio Giammarco, Paolo Damiani, Fabrizio Bosso, Roberto Gatto, Giovanni Amato, Luigi Masciari, Joel Holmes, Reuben Rogers, Gregory Hutchinson, Jeremy Monteiro, Ameen Saleem, Darryl Hall, Larry Panella, Bill Carrothers, Andy Gravish, Olivier Hutman. He has released several albums including Gotha 17 (Splasc (h) Records), Rune (Blue Serge), Loose (Tosky Records), What’s New (Caligola Records), Never Fault Behind The Scenes (Tosky Records). Simone Zanchini, accordionist among the most interesting and innovative on the international scene, his research moves between the borders of contemporary music, acoustic and electronic, sound experimentation, extra-cultured contaminations without forgetting tradition. He has played in major festivals and reviews in Italy (Clusone Jazz, Umbria Jazz, Tivoli Jazz, Time in Jazz -Berchidda and in the most important international festivals (France, Austria, Germany, England, Holland, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Slovenia, Croatia , Macedonia, Spain, Norway, Russia, Tunisia, Lebanon, India, Venezuela, USA, Japan). Since 1999 he has collaborated on a regular basis with the Soloists of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, since 1996 he has published about twenty discs. in 2016 he received the “Orpheus Award 2016” as best album of the year.In 2018 he released “Cinema Paradiso” a project on the music of Nino Rota. Luigi Masciari, he has collaborated live and in the studio with some of the most prestigious names on the national and international jazz scene. He has recorded several albums, with Aaron Parks (The G-Session), Jason Lindner (Dust in the mirror), Danilo Rea (Emoticons, Nosferatu) Paolo Damiani (Pane e Tempesta, Classical music read), Alfredo Paixão (Firts Name Oona), Francesco Bearzatti (Noise in the box). He is the winner of the prestigious US award “Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead for performers and composers”, Washington D.C “, 2007, awarded to him by legendary musicians such as Curtis Fuller and Dr. Billy Taylor. His arrangements and musical direction of the concert story Viva #De André by Luigi Viva. On the occasion he had the opportunity to collaborate also with Giulio Carmassi (Pat Metheny Unity Group) and Michael League (leader of Snarky Puppy). He holds the chair of Jazz Guitar at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.
